In 2014, Jak Kunstler and Susannah Johannsen started Louisiana Purchase Real Estate & Development, LLC, which is subsidiary of KNS Works, LLC, and is state licensed to develop and sell modular houses and office buildings in Louisiana. Our business model is unlike any other in the state for this type of housing product. We are the company to help you get your dream home or office. We are real estate agent, project manager, general contractor and designer.

What are modular homes & offices?

Modular homes & offices are built in factories and shipped in two pieces.  They are reassembled on site and can look just like a typical 1940’s south Louisiana raised cottage with a porch on the front or can be designed to look more modern. You decide! We envision this housing product as a game changer for infill housing in older neighborhoods.  The housing quality does not change, but some of the features can be modified to make the house affordable or market rate.  These houses are built to the 2015 International Residential Code (“IRC”) and either meet or exceed the requirements of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Louisiana Purchase Real Estate & Development can help you find and purchase the land,  select the right floor plan for your residence or office, and work with you on selecting the finishes from your granite countertops to the color palette. In addition, Louisiana Purchase hires the general contractors and foundation specialists that will make sure your home or office is installed properly as well as coordinates the delivery logistics.
